Egyptology Program

Overview

International Digital University is proud to present its one-year online diploma in Egyptology. The objective of the Professional Diploma in Egyptology is to help students acquire the necessary knowledge and understanding in different fields of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization. It is one of very few courses in Egyptology delivered entirely online.
The program allows students to tailor the course to their own interests via a choice of optional units. Different units can also be offered separately without registering for the diploma. This flexibility to meet student needs is seldom found in other distance learning programs.

Goals

  • The Professional Diploma in Egyptology aims to help students acquire the necessary knowledge and understanding in different fields of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization, ranging from History and Archaeology, to Art and Architecture up to Ancient Egyptian Religion and Archaeological Excavation

  • Students will be equipped with knowledge in different fields of the Ancient Egyptian Civilization, ranging from History and Archaeology, to Art and Architecture up to Ancient Egyptian Religion and Archaeological Excavation. The wide range of courses covering the most important aspects of Ancient Egypt allow students to take more advanced steps into further specialized studies in Egyptology.

  • The online setting of the program will familiarize students with modern educational tools and will enable them to acquire the necessary skills for online research and life-long learning.

The program consists of two semesters (one academic year), and the Diploma is granted upon the completion of 30 credit hours.

Program Details

  • Egyptology is the first international online Professional Diploma in Egyptology to be taught by world class Egyptian professors.

  • The programme provides in-depth information about all relevant aspects related to ancient Egyptian life.

  • All programme lectures and activities are held English and online using IDU rich educational platform.

  • Each course in the provided programme outline includes one lecture and one tutorial per week. All lectures and tutorials are live to maximize the interaction between professors and students as well as students and each other. This helps provide an interesting and interactive learning experience for students. All sessions are also recorded and uploaded to IDU platform for students’ access at their convenience. This helps those working students as well as those who are in countries with different time zones or with any other challenges. Also, there are several other relevant educational materials that provided to students on IDU platform and can be accessed anytime.

  • Courses include several forms of activities throughout the semester. At the end of each semester, final exams for all courses take place.

  • IDU provides different modern educational technologies on its platform, that helps making the learning experience useful and interesting.

  • IDU adopts British Quality Assurance policies and procedures to ensure that students receive the best quality of education possible and that plans for continuous quality enhancement are in place.

Program Fees

Programme fees is EGP 25,000  for the two semester (other accepted currencies are: United States Dollar (USD), Euro (EUR) and Pound Sterling (GBP).

Application Notes

Please note that payment can ONLY be made after the student’s application has been approved and authorized to proceed to the payment stage. Relevant needed information will then be provided by IDU Admission Office. Annual fees for the “Egyptology Programme can be paid as one up-front payment or two equal installments, one before each semester. Plans for providing monthly installment plans for students residing in Egypt are currently in progress and will be advertised as soon as they are available.
