Bio-Health Informatics is a professional diploma offering practical insights into Bioinformatics and Health Informatics for life sciences graduates and researchers with emphasis on clinical applications. Given the high demand and availability of the wide range of biological data being generated to answer scientific questions, it has become necessary to have the skills and knowledge to understand, analyze and interpret these data in a professional manner. Bio-health Informatics diploma with its diverse courses provides students with skills required to meet these needs.
Our vision is to prepare graduates to work on state-of-art research projects and conduct analysis for the currently available massive clinical and biological data on their own. Bridging the gap between biologists and computer scientists is our main challenge, where both groups can stand on a common solid background and be able to grasp both ends of Bioinformatics and Health Informatics.
During their study, students will gain all the required knowledge starting with the necessary knowledge needed for biologists or computer scientists. This knowledge includes statistical analysis methods, computational methods for drug design, programming using certain languages, digital health records, and solutions to the concepts and implementation of precision medicine.
Practical skills are another pillar of this diploma. Students will be able to use computational tools and programs, developing individually customized work pipelines, cheminformatics, and biological structures visualization, choosing the appropriate statistical tests for a given study, R programming, data visualization upstream and downstream analysis for ‘omics data, and Health Informatics implementation and database design.
Graduates will be equipped with all theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to compete in Bio-Health Informatics jobs in both research and industrial aspects.
Examples of career opportunities for the diploma graduates include working as Biomedical Software Engineer, Bioinformatics Scientist, Health Informatics Analyst, Clinical Informatics Analyst, and Healthcare Data Analyst and several other options.
You will be able apply computational methods in order to find hidden insights and understand in more depth living biological systems, which in return enhance healthcare systems. You will be familiar with all state-of-art applicatons of using AI and Data Science in health.
